Frick Collection reopens April 17 after $220M Selldorf renovation
On April 17, 2025, The Frick Collection located on Fifth Avenue will welcome visitors once again following a $220 million renovation spearheaded by architect Annabelle Selldorf, in collaboration with Beyer Blinder Belle and garden designer Lynden B. Miller. This initiative maintains the integrity of the historic 1914 mansion and the Russell Page garden. Enhancements include a grand entrance hall, a café, a 218-seat auditorium, an education center, and three galleries for temporary exhibitions. The inaugural exhibit in June 2025 will spotlight Vermeer. Additionally, the second-floor Frick apartment will showcase masterpieces alongside restored historical materials. Under the direction of Axel Rüger, the reopening will allow for double the artworks to be displayed, expanding the renowned collection of Renaissance and decorative arts, previously partially located at the Breuer Building.
