Freymond Collection Opens New Contemporary Art Hub in Tuscany
Collectors Caroline and Eric Freymond have inaugurated Palazzo Al Bosco, a new center for contemporary art production and exhibition in San Casciano in Val di Pesa, Tuscany. The 18-hectare private estate, featuring multiple restored buildings, will host exhibitions, concerts, and cultural events. The inaugural show, 'Borrowed Views,' curated by Laurence Dreyfus, presents 20 works by Olafur Eliasson from the Freymond collection, focusing on his glass pieces and explorations of light. The exhibition runs until next summer, with visits by appointment one Saturday per month. The Freymonds, based in Geneva, previously opened Espace Muraille in 2014 and have supported restoration projects and Palazzo Strozzi in Florence. The renovation of the Limonaia was entrusted to artist Jorge Pardo, while the Théâtre de Verdure will host music, dance, and sculpture. The main exhibition space, Tinaia Al Bosco (230 sqm), originally housed a wine press, and will be used for new projects with artists already in dialogue with the collectors.
