French Design Speed Dating Exhibition at Institut Français Milano

The French Design Speed Dating Exhibition at the Institut Français in Milan showcases thirteen projects resulting from a speed-dating format organized by VIA (Valorisation de l'Innovation dans l'Ameublement), a French incubator for emerging design. Two hundred young designers, students or graduates from French design schools, each had three ten-minute meetings with company representatives. The exhibition, held during Milan Design Week, features collaborations between historic brands like Ligne Roset and Le Lit National and emerging designers such as Melody Sirman and Bina Baitel. Ligne Roset produced the Asembla tray-table by Geneva-based designer Melody Sirman, while Le Lit National worked with Bina Baitel, an alumna of the École Nationale Supérieure d'Architecture de la Villette in Paris. The display also includes prototypes by seventeen architecture and design school students selected by a jury of journalists, designers, and industrialists. The initiative highlights France's approach to promoting its design industry.
