Freiham Collective Housing by Multiple Firms Wins 2023 Award
A collective housing project at Ute-Strittmatter-Strasse in Munich's Freiham district, designed by a consortium of 03 Arch., ENEFF Architekten, Illiz Architektur, and Westner Schührer Zöhrer, with landscape architecture by Uniola, was completed in 2023. The project spans 11,604 m² and is part of Freiham, Europe's largest new development area, expected to house 25,000 people on 350 hectares. The city retained land ownership, leasing parcels to municipal developers, cooperatives, and building associations under hereditary building rights.
