Freefly Systems Joins L-Mount Alliance as 11th Member, Expanding Camera Mount Options
Freefly Systems Inc., established in 2018, has just joined the L-Mount Alliance, which includes well-known brands like Leica, Sigma, and Panasonic, along with others such as DJI and Blackmagic Design. Freefly is famous for its MoVI camera stabilization gimbal, launched in 2013, and has also introduced several drones and cameras, like the Wave and Ember S5K and S2.5K. These devices come with super 35-sized sensors, with the S5K capable of shooting 5K at 600 fps and 4K at 800 fps. Tabb Firchau, the CEO, mentioned that being part of the alliance boosts innovation and lens access. Valentino Di Leonardo from Leica highlighted Freefly's role in enhancing aerial cinematography, with the alliance now offering over 20 cameras and 134 compatible lenses.
