Fredrik Paulsen's Vauhtikisat Chair One Fuses Skate Culture and Design
Swedish designer Fredrik Paulsen has created the limited-edition Vauhtikisat Chair One for Helsinki's annual Vauhtikisat skateboarding festival, in collaboration with Finnish Design Shop. The chair, featuring the event's illustration, was skated and gifted during the July 2026 edition. Vauhtikisat began as a DIY gathering in 2014 and now attracts over 4,000 skateboarders to Helsinki's highest hill park. Paulsen, who grew up in the Swedish skate scene, translates that influence into the design. Five chairs are available through Finnish Design Shop from July, with an additional chair awarded to the competition winner. The collaboration also marks the arrival of Paulsen's JOY OBJECTS collection at Finnish Design Shop.
