Franz Gertsch Retrospective in Bern: Six Decades of Monumental Painting

The Kunstmuseum Bern will host a retrospective of renowned artist Franz Gertsch, featuring approximately 40 paintings. The exhibition, titled "Franz Gertsch. Blow-Up (Part I)," is set to open on August 14, 2026, and will continue until January 17, 2027. A second segment will be presented at the Museum Franz Gertsch in Burgdorf, commencing on September 19. This retrospective, developed in collaboration with the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and Gertsch's family, follows a prior showing at Deichtorhallen Hamburg. Gertsch, who passed away in 2022 at the age of 92, is celebrated for his monumental painting.
