Franklin Street Works Exhibition Explores Painting's Influence Across Contemporary Media
From November 22, 2014, to February 22, 2015, 'About Like So: The Influence of Painting' was showcased at Franklin Street Works in Stamford, Connecticut. Curated by Terri C. Smith, the exhibition displayed 34 artworks by 20 different artists, examining the interplay between painting and various other forms of media. Featured works included K.R.H. Sonderborg's 1993 performance video, Leslie Wayne's Paint/Rag series (2012, 2014), Ragnheiður Gestsdóttir's 2010 video As If We Existed, Taylor Davis's TBOX No. 1 (2012), Tameka Norris's Purple Painting (2011), and Paul Branca's Untitled, for Rodchenko (2013).
