Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin West Scanned in 3D for VR Experience

architecture-design · 2026-05-04

The Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation has partnered with Leica Geosystems to create a detailed 3D reproduction of Taliesin West, the architect's winter studio in Scottsdale, Arizona. The entire building was scanned using the world's smallest and lightest laser scanner, the BLK360. Foundation president Stuart Graff stated that the collaboration aims to preserve the site for future generations and make it accessible worldwide, allowing people to experience Wright's vision, architecture, and design in new ways. The project is part of the foundation's 3D Lab initiative.
