Franco Noero Gallery Opens Water-Themed Group Show in Turin

Franco Noero Gallery in Turin hosts 'RHE', the first collaborative exhibition of Galleries Curate, an informal group of international contemporary art galleries formed after the COVID-19 crisis. The show focuses on water as a unifying theme, featuring works by Giovanni Anselmo, Jason Dodge, Lara Favaretto, Jac Leirner, Robert Mapplethorpe, and Simon Starling. Anselmo's 'Oltremare all'orizzonte appare' (1979-2021) uses ultramarine blue to reference historical pigment value and spatial ambiguity. Dodge presents 200 glass jars in an untitled installation that responds to environmental changes. Favaretto's 'Do not cross' (2013) is a horizontal tube wrapped in blue wool, evoking boundaries. Leirner's 'Skin (Juicy Jay's Cotton Candy King Size Slim)' (2013) repeats rolling paper forms, while 'Splash' and 'Lick' (2021) continue her serial approach. Mapplethorpe's 'Waves' (1981) captures a dramatic seascape. Starling's 'By night the Swiss buy cheap rate electricity…' (2005) comprises 21 platinum/palladium prints of photographs by Christopher Williams of the Grand Dixence dam, reflecting on value and energy. The exhibition runs in collaboration with Tucci Russo (Torre Pellice/Turin) and Rodeo Gallery (Athens/London).
