Franco Nero Reads Poetry at Palazzo Altemps for Gabriele Tinti's Rovine Project
On December 4, 2016, actor Franco Nero will read ecphrastic poems by Gabriele Tinti at the Museo Nazionale Romano di Palazzo Altemps in Rome. The poems are inspired by ancient sculptures—Antinoo, Ares, and Guerriero seduto—displayed in the museum. This event is part of Tinti's ongoing Rovine project, which has previously been staged at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, J. Paul Getty Museum, British Museum, and Glyptothek in Munich, with actors including Joe Mantegna, Robert Davi, and Burt Young. The reading coincides with the exhibition "Antinoo. Un ritratto in due parti," organized by Palazzo Altemps and the Art Institute of Chicago. Tinti's Rovine collection will be published as a book by Skira in 2017/2018.
