Franco Angeli documentary 'Lo spazio inquieto' premieres at Torino Film Festival

The documentary 'Lo spazio inquieto,' directed by the artist's nephew and produced by Luce Cinecittà, had its world premiere at the Torino Film Festival. It was also screened in Rome at Cinema Nuovo Sacher on March 20, coinciding with the exhibition 'Franco Angeli – Opere 1958-1988' at Wegil, extended until April 2. The film uses unpublished materials, films, photos, and figurative works to trace Angeli's life and career, featuring experimental cinema, his friends Mario Schifano and Tano Festa, his city Rome, and his conflicted relationship with the Italian Communist Party. Testimonials include his brother Otello, daughter Maria, wife Livia, friend Marco Bellocchio, and art critics and historians. The exhibition, promoted by Regione Lazio and realized by LAZIOcrea, curated by Silvia Pegoraro from an idea by gallerist and collector Aldo Marchetti in collaboration with the Archivio Franco Angeli di Roma, presents 74 works from 1958 to 1988, including many previously unseen pieces, spanning from informal beginnings to geometric and metaphysical figuration.
