market-auction · 2026-04-26

Banca Generali has acquired Francesco Vezzoli's 2004 work 'Comizi di non amore – The prequel (Contestant n.3: Marianne Faithfull)' for its corporate collection, selected by Art Basel director Vincenzo De Bellis. The piece joins works by Francesco Arena, Enrico David, Lara Favaretto, Rosa Barba, and Linda Fregni Nagler. It will be displayed at the BG Training & Innovation Hub in Milan during Art Week (April 8–14, 2024), alongside pieces by Alessandro Pessoli and Patrizio Di Massimo. Banca Generali, a sixth-year partner of the miart fair, also sponsors free entry to PAC on April 13 and a conference on collecting at GAM. The acquisition is part of the BG ARTALENT project, which promotes Italian artists globally. De Bellis praised Vezzoli's exploration of fame and visibility, noting the work's relevance 20 years after the original 'Comizi di Non Amore' series.
