Francesco Pantaleone opens new Milan gallery in Porta Romana
Francesco Pantaleone, after a decade in Palermo and a temporary Milan space called Bad New Business Gallery, has opened a permanent gallery in Milan's Porta Romana district. The new venue, Francesco Pantaleone Arte Contemporanea, is located in a late 19th-century building on Via San Rocco 11, near Bocconi University and Fondazione Prada. The inaugural exhibition, "Ouverture," features Liliana Moro, an artist long associated with the gallery, running from March 28 to June 30, 2017. Pantaleone describes the space as having two large, bright rooms open to the street, in a historic neighborhood with a reserved charm. He views this move as a reinforcement of his existing program, but with a different curatorial direction focused on new artists, languages, and collaborations. The gallery joins a dense network of galleries in the area, including Pack, Artopia, Patricia Armocida, Artra, and Galica.
