Francesco Pace and Tellurico: Design, Folklore, and the Future

Francesco Pace, founder of the multidisciplinary design studio Tellurico, discusses his practice rooted in folklore and the relationship between craftsmanship and environment. After earning a Master in Contextual Design from the Design Academy Eindhoven and collaborating with FormaFantasma, he established Tellurico in 2017. His work has been exhibited at prestigious venues including the Venice Architecture Biennale, Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven, MADRE Naples, Triennale Milano, Museo Bröhan Berlin, Beirut Design Fair, and Padiglione Italia Barcelona. He was named among Italy's best designers under 40 by Platform Magazine in 2020, won the Officine Saffi Awards in 2021 for his project Telluride, was selected as a Next Pure Talent by Elle Decor in 2022, and made the AD20 List of New Italian Rising Talent by AD Italia in 2023. Pace lives between Eindhoven and Milan, where he recently began teaching at NABA. He collaborates with The Good Plastic Company, creating installations like Iceberg in the desert at Dubai Design Week (November 2023). Future projects include the third edition of the Worth Partnership Project, funded by COSME, and the ongoing Telluride project exploring volcanic rock combined with porcelain clay and high-fire glazing. He will not participate in Salone del Mobile in 2024.
