Francesco Gennari Releases Cassette Album 'Frammenti' on Important Records

Italian producer Francesco Gennari (b. 1995) has released his latest album 'Frammenti' on cassette via Important Records / Cassauna. The album, published on May 5, 2023, features eight short-to-medium-length tracks blending ambient textures with muffled sounds, evoking comparisons to Caterina Barbieri and Boards of Canada. Gennari, a classically trained pianist who graduated from the Luca Marenzio Conservatory in Brescia, transitioned from DIY noise-punk bands to modular synthesizers. The cassette format and minimalist cover art by label founder John Brien reinforce the DIY aesthetic. Gennari describes 'Frammenti' as a journey, with each track representing a phase of life: 'Ardere' captures passion, 'Rifugio' is a safe place, and 'Emergere in superficie' follows tension.
