Francesco De Molfetta's 'DEMOlition Man' Opens at Accademia di Belle Arti di Reggio Calabria

exhibition · 2026-05-27

The Accademia di Belle Arti di Reggio Calabria presents 'DEMOlition Man', a solo exhibition by Francesco De Molfetta, known as DEMO, running until July 18, 2026. Curated by Domenico Michele Surace and directed by Prof. Pietro Sacchetti, the show transforms the academy into an open construction site, reworking myths from pop culture and art history. De Molfetta's work detonates and reactivates symbols from art, pop culture, politics, and media, inviting viewers to question how icons are constructed and transformed. The exhibition also serves as a didactic project, involving students in its production and opening the academy to the city. Inaugurated on May 18 with a talk by the artist, the show is free and open to the public.
