Francesco Clemente performs live painting at Ravello Festival

Francesco Clemente performed live painting for the first time during a contemporary dance piece at the Ravello Festival. The event took place at Villa Rufolo in Ravello, with a stage overlooking the Amalfi Coast. Clemente created a drawing of two embracing figures, which was later torn apart by dancers. The performance was choreographed by Karole Armitage, with Alba Clemente reciting verses by Konstantinos Kavafis and designing costumes. The show, titled "The Wall," featured music by David Lang inspired by Pink Floyd. Clemente also presented an exhibition at Villa Rufolo's chapel, including a tent embroidered by Indian artisans, fifteen new watercolors, and eight flags.
