Francesco Cavaliere's Abyssal Creatures debuts in Bologna

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The project Abyssal Creatures by Francesco Cavaliere, showcasing Murano glass sculptures inspired by deep-sea plants and sound art, is set to launch in Italy from March 7 to 9, 2024, at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Bologna. Curated by the Bologna-based group Xing, this follows an earlier presentation at O Museu como Performance in Porto. The Bologna exhibition will feature a sound installation alongside a live performance. Upcoming displays are scheduled for spring at Urban Glass in New York and in summer at GAM in Turin. The three sculptures, colored green, orange, and yellow, produce sound when activated by Cavaliere. An artist's book and LP will also be created, with the works later entering the Museo d'Arte della Città di Ravenna.
