Francesco Bertelé's First Solo Show at NCTM Studio Legale in Milan

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Francesco Bertelé (born 1978 in Como) presents his first solo exhibition at NCTM Studio Legale in Milan, titled "Seminerò perle di principessa in una caverna." The show draws from his residency in Iceland, which became a perceptual survey and visual collection inspired by language and the project Guha. Bertelé describes Guha as "the inner cave on the edge of the world; an environmental monument hidden in the belly of the earth. An invisible refuge for meditation on nature upon which we all depend." His imagery merges with the landscape, creating a path of memory through dreamlike photographic artifacts and line drawings that hint at the memory of the gaze. At the opening, the video-performance "Sagas" was presented as an ecstatic culmination, featuring music performer Nick McMullan. The exhibition runs until July 20, 2016, at Via Agnello 12, Milan.
