Francesco Arena Wins Pino Pascali Prize 2024 with 'Trenta altalene'

The 2024 Pino Pascali Prize, now in its 26th edition, has been granted to Francesco Arena. The selection committee, led by Giuseppe Teofilo, also includes members Francesco Guzzetti and Nicoletta Lambertucci. Arena's exhibition, titled 'Trenta altalene' (Thirty Swings), will be curated by Bruna Roccasalva and is set to open in Polignano a Mare on July 6, 2024. This project will showcase thirty bronze swings in various sites, such as Cala Port'Alga and Piazza Sant'Antonio. Each swing will feature an aphorism or poem from notable writers and philosophers, including Umberto Galimberti and Fedor Dostoevskij, as Arena seeks to foster aesthetic and conceptual engagement with the public, highlighting the richness of urban life.
