Francesca Guerisoli's First Season at MAC Lissone

Francesca Guerisoli, the new director of MAC – Museo di Arte Contemporanea di Lissone, has launched her inaugural programming with three projects: a Francesco Lauretta retrospective titled 'Festival', the first chapter of 'Replay' featuring Flavio Favelli's 'Casematte', and Grossi Maglioni's 'The Cave'. The Lauretta show, running until March 5, 2022, includes his painting 'Dottor Pasavento', recently acquired through the Premio Lissone. 'Replay' is a year-long participatory project rethinking the permanent collection, involving artists and experts in talks with public input. Grossi Maglioni's installation, winner of the Italian Council, explores feminist themes. Guerisoli emphasizes dual identity: serving the local Brianza territory while engaging the broader art system. She focuses on cultural mediation, artist writings, and public encounters. The museum, originally built to house the Premio Lissone collection from the 1940s-60s, sees increased visitor interest.
