Francesca Fini's Digital Art Collection 'A Dream in Stone' at Rocca Sinibalda

The medieval Castello di Rocca Sinibalda in Rieti, Italy, has launched a digital art collection titled 'A Dream in Stone' by video artist Francesca Fini. The collection features eight video works inspired by Girolamo Muziano's frescoes in the Sala delle Metamorfosi, available on the Sedition platform. The project originated from a proposal by castle owners Cristina Cenci and Enrico Pozzi, who also run the Endecameron artist residency. During the pandemic, Fini curated a virtual edition of Endecameron in 2020, creating an online platform with multistreaming connections, talks, and a collective blog documenting artistic processes. The digital collection aims to valorize the castle's heritage and fund the restoration of Muziano's frescoes. Fini's works imagine Earth after humanity's disappearance, drawing on her passion for the past, futuristic imagery, and contemporary philosophy, referencing Ray Bradbury's 'The Martian Chronicles.' The castle is described as a crystallized bottle thrown across centuries, with art as its message to posterity. Sedition, founded in 2011, is a pioneering platform for digital art editions by artists like Damien Hirst, Bill Viola, and Yoko Ono, and has recently opened to NFTs.
