Francesca Caruana Hosts Visual Poetry Biennale in New Saleilles Studio After Pandemic Disruption
Francesca Caruana relocated her exhibition from Château d'Alba la Romaine in Ardèche to her newly established studio in Saleilles due to pandemic restrictions. The space now hosts the 5th International Biennale of Visual Poetry, founded by artist-poet-publisher André Robèr, running from June 19 to July 2, 2021. Opening on June 19 at 6:30 PM, subsequent daily hours are 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM. Participants include Aaron Flores, Julien Blaine, Fabrice Caruaca, Ryosuke Cohen, Joël Frémiot, Gabriel Fabre, and numerous international artists. Henri Sageloli, author of "Les Calories de la moutarde" published by Paraules, a book dedicated to Caruana, will also attend. A virtual studio tour with artist commentary is available online for remote visitors. The film "Quel temps sous les pierres?" by Olivier Moulaï and Claire Muchir, produced by Les Films du Gerris in 2021, documents Caruana's work. Claire Muchir, curator of the Musée d'Art Moderne de Collioure, conducted the interview questions for the virtual visit. The event represents an adaptive response to exhibition cancellations while maintaining artistic community engagement.
