France launches Grand Palais Immersif agency for digital exhibitions

institutional · 2026-04-27

France has launched Grand Palais Immersif, a new entity under Réunion des Musées Nationaux – Grand Palais (Rmn-GP), aimed at creating large-scale digital exhibitions. This collaboration involves Rmn-GP, Banque des Territoires, and VINCI Immobilier. The focus of Grand Palais Immersif will be on immersive experiences utilizing technologies such as 3D reconstructions and virtual reality. This initiative is inspired by the successful Pompeii exhibition held at the Grand Palais in 2020, which attracted 200,000 visitors between July 1 and October 29, 2020. Maud Franca from Banque des Territoires noted the promise of immersive technologies, while CEO Roei Amit stressed the importance of engaging audiences. The agency plans to partner with museums like the Louvre and startups such as Iconem. Rmn-GP oversees 34 national museums, including the Louvre.
