FRAGMENT Vessels by Donatas Žukauskas Mimic Volcanic Rock from Recycled Paper

Donatas Žukauskas, a designer from Lithuania, has introduced FRAGMENT, a series of sculptural vessels that merge elements of architecture, geology, and design. This collection offers a fresh take on traditional vases, showcasing fractured shapes and textured finishes that evoke the appearance of volcanic rock or aged concrete. Each vessel is crafted by hand using a unique blend of recycled paper pulp, natural cement, mineral pigments, and binders, ensuring they are both lightweight and sturdy. The collection features four vessels in two color options: FRAGMENT Ochre I & II and FRAGMENT Terracotta I & II, all characterized by their asymmetrical designs and uneven surfaces. The production method emphasizes the inherent variations and flaws in the material. FRAGMENT investigates innovative materials for modern interiors.
