Foxfield mansion from Disney+ series Rivals listed for £8m in Cardiff

The mansion known as Bella Vista in the Disney+ series Rivals, home to Danny Dyer's character Freddie, has been listed for sale at £8 million. The property, named Foxfield, is located in Lisvane, Cardiff, not the fictional Cotswolds setting of the show. Built in 1999, it was previously owned by businessman Peter Thomas of Peters Pies. The estate spans 24 acres and includes seven en-suite bedrooms, a valet car garage, a large drawing room, a white oak staircase shaped like a rugby ball, a pond, and a lift. Estate agent Jemma Friday of Fine and Country described it as "currently south Wales' most expensive home" and noted global interest, though no inquiries from Dyer have been made. The series, based on Dame Jilly Cooper's 1988 novel, features an all-star cast including David Tennant and Emily Atack. Cooper, who died in 2025 at age 88, had recently asked producers to stop making her macho men cry. Rivals is streaming on Disney+.
