Four Textile Museums Launch Digital Collaboration on Instagram

digital · 2026-04-27

Four geographically distant textile museums have launched Textile Culture Net, a collaborative digital project on Instagram. The initiative brings together CHAT – Centre for Heritage, Arts and Textile in Hong Kong, the Central Museum of Textiles in Lodz, the TextielMuseum in Tilburg, and Lottozero textile laboratories in Prato. Each institution takes turns proposing a theme, and the others respond with posts, creating a narrative flow under the hashtag #TextileCultureNet. The project began during the pandemic as a way to overcome physical distance and share methodologies. The first online exhibition, curated by Lottozero, opens December 2, 2020, and features the work of French duo About a Worker. The exhibition, titled "About a Worker," explores four collections created since 2017, focusing on the worker as the center of the creative process. It was developed in collaboration with the Centro per l'arte contemporanea Luigi Pecci and will run until the end of January 2021. The museums plan to expand the project with short films and future international exhibitions.
