Four Teams Shortlisted for Grand Site Tour Eiffel Competition

architecture-design · 2026-05-04

The City of Paris and SETE have shortlisted four teams for the Grand Site Tour Eiffel competition, aimed at reimagining the 54-hectare public space around the Eiffel Tower ahead of the 2024 Olympics. The teams are led by Amanda Levete Architects with GROSS.MAX, KOZ architectes with Atelier Roberta, Agence TER with Carlo Ratti Associati, and Gustafson Porter + Bauman. They will work over ten months under Mayor Anne Hidalgo to develop projects that enhance the monument's surroundings, addressing green spaces, unused pavilions, and traffic. The project has a budget of 40 million euros, part of a broader 300-million-euro, five-year renovation plan starting in 2019. Jean-Louis Missika, Paris's urban planning deputy, stated the goal is to reconnect the tower with its environment without reinventing it.
