Four Summer Exhibitions in the Alpes-Maritimes

exhibition · 2026-04-24

Four exhibitions by artists of different generations are on view in the Alpes-Maritimes region. At the Musée national Pablo Picasso in Antibes, Violaine Lochu presents 'Battle' (until September 27), a video-performance shot in the Romanesque chapel where Picasso painted a fresco on war and peace in 1952. The work incorporates interviews with Vallauris residents on trauma, grief, and displacement. At Villa Arson in Nice, Otobong Nkanga's 'When Looking Across the Sea, Do You Dream?' (until September 19) explores colonization and resource extraction through photography, textiles, and installations. At the Musée Chagall in Nice, Cécile Bart's 'Je suis bleue' (until August 30) uses painted screens and negative prints on windows to interact with light. At the Espace de l'art concret in Mouans-Sartoux, Vera Molnar's 'Pas froid aux yeux' (until September 12) surveys her geometric abstraction and digital art, including a tapestry made during lockdown.
