Four Photographers Redefine Space at Bologna's LABS Contemporary Art

exhibition · 2026-04-27

There's an exhibit called 'Ridisegnare lo spazio' (Redesigning Space) happening at LABS Contemporary Art in Bologna, and it’s curated by Angela Madesani. The show showcases the talents of four photographers: Marina Caneve from Belluno, born in 1988; Giulia Marchi from Rimini, born in 1976; Andreas Gefeller from Düsseldorf, born in 1970; and Massimo Vitali from Como, born in 1944. They all explore how we perceive space through their photography. For instance, Vitali’s 2018 work 'Ponta dos Mosteiros Dark' shows the impact of human activity on nature with striking colors in darker scenes. Gefeller’s 'Supervisions' series from 2004 shifts perspectives, while Marchi’s 'Fundamental' series turns waste into geometric art, and Caneve’s 'A fior di terra' looks at marble pieces in their natural context. Each piece invites viewers to see beyond just documentation.
