There are four new books that explore the lives and contributions of some music legends: David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, and Lou Reed, along with jazz and photography. 'Bruce Springsteen 50' by Ermanno Labianca (Rizzoli, 2023, €60) highlights Springsteen's remarkable 50-year career, from his debut album 'Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J.' in 1973 to his recent soul and R&B works. Alessandro Angeli’s 'Cammina sul lato selvaggio' (Arcana, 2023, €14) follows Lou Reed's journey from New York's underground to global fame, discussing his early days, the Velvet Underground, and his collaboration with Bowie. Robert Dimery's 'Una vita per la musica. David Bowie' (24 Ore Cultura, 2023, €19) honors Bowie, who died on January 10, 2016, days after 'Blackstar' was released. Lastly, Roberto Polillo's 'Fotografare il jazz' (Mimesis, 2023, €15, out September 22) features his concert photography from the '60s and '70s, capturing jazz legends like John Coltrane and Miles Davis.
