Four Musical Projects Responding to Pandemic Lockdown
During the COVID-19 lockdown, four creative music projects emerged online, promoting communal experiences and reflecting on solitude. Elli Records, a label from Italy and France, launched 'In the room,' featuring 16 digital albums from various artists, each accompanied by a piece of artwork from Paolo Cavinato. The full artwork will be revealed once all albums are released between April 21 and June 2020. Gabriele Marangoni's 'Human Dramaturgies' invites people globally to submit 10-second videos and sound recordings for an immersive installation, curated by Giulia Soravia, with over 40 artists from 15 countries joining since March 17, 2020. 'The Sound Outside,' led by Valeria Caputo and Sara Lenzi, collects audio from windows worldwide until May 4, 2020, receiving over fifty contributions. Lastly, Ramon Moro from Torino shares daily one-minute videos on Instagram and Facebook titled 'Toccare le corde,' blending trumpet and flugelhorn improvisations with archival images from April 12 to May 3, 2020.
