Four Italian comics to read on holiday
Artribune presents a selection of four recent Italian graphic novels for summer reading. 'Fai rumore' (Il Castoro, 2022) is an anthology by fourteen female Italian cartoonists addressing gender violence, inspired by Audre Lorde and supported by the feminist collective Moleste. Tommi Parrish's 'All the love I can get' (minimum fax, 2022) explores contemporary emotional disconnection through the story of Sasha and Eliza. Dottor Pira's 'Gabonzo. L'invincibile robot' (Feltrinelli Comics, 2022) is a deliberately crude tribute to Japanese robots, featuring a politically incorrect protagonist. Marco Galli's 'Il nido' (Coconino Press, 2022) depicts Hitler's final days in his Bavarian Alps bunker between June 3 and 7, 1944, focusing on the delusion of his inner circle.
