Four Berlin Museums Form New MuseumsMeileMitte Quarter
Four Berlin institutions—Museum für Naturkunde, Hamburger Bahnhof, Futurium, and Medizinhistorisches Museum der Charité—have announced a collaboration to create the "MuseumsMeileMitte" quarter. Located near the Hauptbahnhof, within a 10–15 minute walk of each other, the museums already attract two million visitors annually. The initiative launches on June 13 with a neighborhood festival offering free admission to all four venues. Planned joint activities include guided walks exploring lesser-known spots around Invalidenstraße, an area historically shaped by the Berlin Wall. Till Fellrath, director of Hamburger Bahnhof, stated that the quarter, along with local institutions and businesses, is actively shaping the city's future. The initiative's website notes that the region's past as a border zone left it fragmented, but sees potential in this character.
