Four Artists Explore Nature and Marriage in 'The Wind, The Stone, The Sky' at Sylvia Wald Po Kim Gallery
Between April 11 and June 6, 2019, the Sylvia Wald Po Kim Gallery in New York City showcased 'The Wind, The Stone, The Sky,' featuring the works of Po Kim, Sylvia Wald, Young Sup Han, and Young Hie Nam, under the curation of Raphael Rubinstein. This exhibition focused on the artists' interactions with nature through a variety of materials. Young Hie Nam crafted textured collages using hanji dyed with red clay, while Young Sup Han applied frottage techniques in large pieces such as 'The Evening Baltic Ocean Number 7001' (2007). Sylvia Wald's sculptures utilized multiple materials, and Po Kim's paintings examined the connections between humans and nature, celebrating the couples' artistic partnerships and offering comfort in the face of environmental challenges.
