Four Artists Explore Exchange at Spaziosiena
At Spaziosiena in Siena, four artists of the same generation—Marco Schiavone, Stefano Serretta, Sebastiano Impellizzeri, and Roberto Fassone—presented works interpreting the concept of exchange, curated by Lisa Andreani and Stefania Margiacchi. Stefano Serretta's 'Jossy' evokes a market with papier-mâché simulacra on a square of camouflage fabric, sold for 2 euros with a certificate of authenticity. Sebastiano Impellizzeri's long-term project maps peripheries and secluded places in cities where he lives or works, capturing the threshold between licit and illicit. Roberto Fassone's 'Rebel Rebel' pair of nightstands from the series 'Dove cadono le pareti' features metal plaques with paradoxical phrases, playing on the exchange of meanings. Marco Schiavone builds a white travertine wall, photographs it, then removes it, leaving only the image—a negation of exchange and gaze. The exhibition runs at Spaziosiena in Siena.
