Four Artist Sketchbooks Explored Online

Blu, the politically charged street artist from Bologna, has transformed his website into a digital sketchbook containing four complete series of drawings that often appear in his large-scale murals. TellerK (formerly Fupete, the duo Erika Gabbani and Daniele Tabellini) shares images of a travel sketchbook created during a trip to Hawaii, filled with marker drawings and notes. Matteo Giuntini, born in Livorno in 1977, creates 'Appunti Inutili' (Useless Notes) – hand-bound, elastic-closed notebooks of absurd associations and rudimentary ideas, often given as gifts. Luca Vitone's 2009 sketchbook, part of the Moleskine Foundation Collection, features tree classifications with collage and graphite, stemming from his project 'Vuole Canti. Cammin Facendo' promoted by Fondazione Galleria Civica di Trento and Museo Tridentino di Scienze Naturali, exhibited in May 2012 at the Institut Français de Dakar.
