Four Art Fairs to Watch in January 2020

January 2020 kicks off with four major international art fairs. The Outsider Art Fair returns to New York's Metropolitan Pavilion from January 16–19, featuring 61 exhibitors from 34 cities across 9 countries, including 7 first-time galleries. A curated exhibition by Brett Littman, director of the Isamu Noguchi Foundation and Garden Museum, highlights Shipibo artists Sara Flores and Celia Vasquez Yui from the Peruvian Amazon. Untitled Art San Francisco holds its fourth edition from January 17–19 at Pier 35 on Embarcadero, with a program of performances, workshops, and talks addressing urban change and climate change. The London Art Fair runs January 22–26 at the Business Design Centre, featuring over 100 galleries and curated sections including Photo50, Art Projects, and Platform. The India Art Fair, directed by Jagdip Jagpal, takes place January 30–February 2 at NSIC Exhibition Grounds in New Delhi, with over 75 exhibitors from 20 cities, focusing on South Asian contemporary art alongside modern masters and local traditions. New participants include Art Explore and Gallery White from India, Saskia Fernando Gallery from Sri Lanka, PSM from Germany, and Marc Straus from the US.
