Four art exhibitions and Nico Vascellari's IONOI at Rome's Festa del Cinema 2021

The 16th edition of the Festa del Cinema di Roma runs from October 14 to 24, 2021, at the Auditorium Parco della Musica and other venues across Rome. Organized by Fondazione Cinema per Roma with artistic direction by Antonio Monda, the festival includes four art exhibitions. At the Foyer Sinopoli, Zerocalcare's retrospective "Dieci anni della profezia di Zerocalcare" (October 14–24) traces his career from his first book "La profezia dell'armadillo" to frames from his animated debut "Strappare lungo i bordi" (Netflix, November 2021). At the Foyer Petrassi, Laura Salvinelli's photo exhibition "Afghana" documents Emergency's maternity center in the Panjshir Valley. At Casa del Cinema (October 13–November 10), "Il Marchese del Grillo 40°" features 60 unpublished photographs by Enrico Appetito celebrating the 40th anniversary of Mario Monicelli's film starring Alberto Sordi; on October 13, a reading of Giorgio Gobbi's book will be held. At Hotel de Russie's Sala Diaghilev (until October 20), "Dalla mia terra alla Terra" presents 17 works by Sebastião Salgado, organized with Contrasto and Alessia Paladini Gallery, including pieces from his "Amazônia" exhibition at MAXXI. As a Special Event on October 12 at MAXXI, Nico Vascellari presents "IONOI," a documentary co-produced by The Apartment (Fremantle) and Codalunga, chronicling a 20-day, 20-region domestic tour with his band Ninos Du Brasil during lockdown (March 26–April 14).
