Fotopub 2019: Giovane arte in Slovenia tra performance, installazioni e memoria

festival-fair · 2026-05-04

In 2019, Fotopub took place in Novo Mesto, Slovenia, a town rich in Austro-Hungarian heritage. The event was led by Dušan Smodej, Tadej Vindiš, Živa Kleindienst, and Urša Purkart, targeting a younger audience with contributions from emerging artists. Serbian performers Tamara Spalajković and Luka Cvetković received awards. While it had an international flair, the festival highlighted Balkan artists, including the Italian duo The Cool Couple. British artist Mark Farid showcased his online project, Poisonous Antidote, and Bosnian artists Mila Panić and Saša Tatić presented Rocking Chairs. Thomas Kuijpers created an installation titled When the Twins Were Still Beautiful, and the collective 1999 examined the Kosovo war. The Cool Couple also paid tribute to Gianni Rodari with their piece, Turborage.
