Fotografiska New York closes Church Missions House, plans move to larger space
By the end of 2024, Fotografiska New York will shut down its Church Missions House location on Park Avenue South and move to a larger, yet-to-be-revealed venue. Since its opening in 2019, the museum has presented 48 exhibitions, including David LaChapelle's inaugural US retrospective. Upcoming exhibitions will feature Vivian Maier starting May 31 and Bruce Gilden from June 21, both available until September 29. A temporary exhibit titled "100 Years of Nightlife in New York" will be showcased while preparations for the new location are underway. Executive Chairman Yoram Roth mentioned visitor growth and recent achievements in Berlin and Shanghai as motivations for the transition. Restaurant services at the current site will cease by mid-June, and the Church Missions House is now available for lease.
