Fortnum & Mason Hosts ArtReview Talks with Frank Cohen, Featuring Zhang Enli and John Virtue Exhibitions
A collaboration between Fortnum & Mason, art collector Frank Cohen, and ArtReview produced a series of in-conversation events at the retailer's Piccadilly flagship in London. These talks were recorded and streamed on artreview.com, with ArtReview editorial staff hosting. On September 9, 2019, Chinese painter Zhang Enli, Fortnum's Zia Zareem-Slade, and Hauser & Wirth's Neil Wenman participated in a discussion moderated by ArtReview and ArtReview Asia editor-in-chief Mark Rappolt at the 3'6 Bar. This event launched Zhang Enli's exhibition at Fortnum & Mason, which displayed 22 works—19 commissioned specifically—throughout the store from windows to staircases. Earlier, on September 11, 2018, British painter John Virtue, collector Frank Cohen, and curator Robert Upstone conversed with moderator Ben Eastham of ArtReview at the same venue. That talk marked the opening of Virtue's exhibition, featuring over 60 works from the late 1980s onward, also installed across the retail spaces.
