Forte di Bard in Valle d'Aosta seeks new director-manager

The Forte di Bard museum complex in Valle d'Aosta, Italy, has published a call for applications for a new director-manager to lead the institution for three years. The deadline for submissions is December 18, 2017. The complex comprises five museums: Le Alpi dei Ragazzi, Museo delle Alpi, Museo delle Fortificazioni, Museo delle Frontiere, and Le Prigioni. The director will handle scientific, managerial, and administrative duties, requiring at least five years of experience in cultural heritage promotion, national and international art sector knowledge, and exhibition production experience. The selection process involves a commission reviewing curricula, interviewing up to five candidates, and presenting a shortlist of three to the board of directors. The annual salary is €85,000 gross. The recruitment is part of a governance reform initiated by the Regione Valle d'Aosta, the structure's owner. President Laurent Viérin stated the open international selection aims to strengthen the cultural hub and integrate it into the network of Italian and international museum excellence.
