Former Supermarket in Valencia’s Ruzafa Becomes Creative Co-Working Space
In the historic Ruzafa district of Valencia, a former Mercadona supermarket warehouse has been repurposed into a collaborative workspace for creative individuals. In 2024, independent architect Paloma Bau and T.O.T Studio founder Ausiàs Pérez purchased the 170-square-metre area. The design draws inspiration from Tokyo’s izakayas, onsens, and ceramic-tiled streets, showcasing two entrances adorned with creamy white ceramic tiles measuring 10 by 10 centimetres. It features a 7.2-metre-long worktable with a black San Vicente stone top and a central bar made of black-tinted MDF. A small meeting room, accessed via a Klein blue door, boasts pastel pink grout, shower head-like lighting, and oval mirrors, promoting interdisciplinary collaboration.
