Formafantasma Returns to Spazio Krizia with Foundation Exhibition During Fuorisalone
During the 2017 Fuorisalone, the Italian design duo Formafantasma (Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin) opened the exhibition "Foundation" at Spazio Krizia in Milan, a historic venue originally conceived by Ingo Maurer and founded by Mariuccia Mandelli, who passed away two years earlier. The show marked the duo's debut in industrial production with two lamps for Flos: Blush Lamp and WireRing, presented at Euroluce during Salone del Mobile. The exhibition traced their critical approach to light design, featuring Ellipse (a preview of a collaboration with Textiel Museum in Tilburg), unique pieces in travertine and brass from the Delta collection evoking classical Roman light, tests for Peep-Hole using pencils, erasers, and steel bars with dichroic glass and lenses to explore LED emotional potential, and prototypes anticipating their Flos creations. The exhibition ran from April 3 to 9, 2017.
