Luminaire Authentik, a women-led design firm based in Cowansville, Quebec, has launched FORMA, a lighting collection that repositions light as a language rather than mere function. The collection sits at the intersection of minimalism and postmodernism, conceived as an open system or 'assembly language' that allows users to build, modify, and expand compositions over time. Design elements traditionally hidden—such as ceiling plates, connection points, and supports—are made visible and become central to the visual identity, blurring the line between structure and aesthetics. Each luminaire is fully configurable, with variables including color, wiring, glass spheres, and finishes, suitable for both residential and commercial environments. The collection is available in-store and online. All pieces are designed and manufactured at Luminaire Authentik's workshop in Cowansville, using raw materials sourced within a 30-kilometer radius, emphasizing local production and reduced logistical impact. The company's philosophy balances material integrity, refined design, and local craftsmanship, with a focus on durability.
