Forensic Architecture Seeks Amateur Footage for Grenfell Tower Fire 3D Model

Eyal Weizman leads Forensic Architecture, a research organization situated at Goldsmiths College, which has embarked on a project to collect amateur documentary footage of the Grenfell Tower fire that took place on 14 June 2017. This tragic incident at the 24-storey public housing structure resulted in 71 fatalities and more than 70 injuries. The diverse team, comprising architects, scholars, artists, filmmakers, software developers, investigative journalists, archaeologists, lawyers, and scientists, intends to transform the collected footage into a 3D model. This model will be accessible to the public at no cost. Renowned for examining war crimes and human rights abuses through animation and digital models, Forensic Architecture aims to provide evidence for possible legal actions while creating a detailed digital reconstruction of the disaster.
