Fondo Network Launched to Support Emerging Performative Arts in Italy

institutional · 2026-04-27

At the end of the 52nd Santarcangelo Festival, the festival's organizer, Santarcangelo dei Teatri, announced a new program called Fondo. This initiative is aimed at supporting up-and-coming talent in the performing arts. Fondo brings together 14 Italian partners, such as AMAT, Centrale Fies, ERT – Emilia Romagna Teatro Fondazione, and others. Each selected project can secure €20,000 for research and production, plus chances for residencies, masterclasses, and workshops. Notable artists like Agnese Banti and Emilia Verginelli are among the chosen ones, while Giacomo Lilliù from Collettivo ØNAR has been awarded a €10,000 fellowship. The goal is to address the need for more extensive research in performance creation.
