Fondazione VOLUME! launches 'Città inseparabili e buoni incontri' with Turner Prize-winning Assemble
Fondazione VOLUME! has inaugurated a new series of events titled 'Città inseparabili e buoni incontri' in Rome, focusing on urban peripheries. The first lecture featured Giles Smith of the British collective Assemble, winners of the 2015 Turner Prize for their regeneration of the Granby Four Streets housing estate in Toxteth, Liverpool. The series aims to gather stories from artists, architects, and designers involved in metropolitan regeneration, fostering exchange of social and cultural best practices on a European scale. Future speakers include Matteo Restagno of G124 (a working group initiated by Senator Renzo Piano), Fosbury Architecture, Antonio Laruffa (presenting 'Incompiuto Siciliano'), and the collective Alterazioni Video. The initiative builds on Fondazione VOLUME!'s earlier 'Parco nomade' project and its mission since 1997 to support public culture and interdisciplinary dialogue.
